Wycliffe "Wyc" Grousbeck was born on June 13, 1961, in Great Neck, New York. He attended Stanford University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering and an MBA.

Professional Career

After graduating from Stanford, Grousbeck worked for several years in the investment banking industry. In 2003, he led a group of investors in the purchase of the Boston Celtics basketball team from then-owner Paul Gaston. Grousbeck became the majority owner and governor of the Celtics, and he has held those positions ever since.

Celtics Ownership

Under Grousbeck's leadership, the Celtics have won one NBA championship (2008) and have been to the NBA Finals twice (2010, 2017). The team has also been consistently successful in the regular season, making the playoffs every year since 2008.
