Lieutenant Horatio H. Caine is the day shift supervisor and head of the Miami-Dade Crime Lab. He is also a forensic analyst and former bomb-squad officer. Caine is known for his signature sunglasses and his catchphrase, "YEEEEAAAAAAH!" In the episode "Jet Set", Caine and his team investigate a jet plane crash in the Everglades. The team must determine the cause of the crash and identify the victims. CSI: Miami is available to stream on Paramount+.David Caruso, who plays Horatio Caine, was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, on January 7, 1956. He is the son of Joan Caruso, a librarian, and Charles Caruso, a newspaper editor. Caruso has two older sisters, Joyce and Joanne. He attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood, Queens, and graduated from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, with a degree in theater.
Caruso began his acting career in the early 1980s, appearing in small roles in films such as "An Officer and a Gentleman" (1982) and "First Blood" (1982). He also had a recurring role on the television series "Miami Vice" (1984-1989).
In 2002, Caruso was cast as Lieutenant Horatio Caine in the CBS television series "CSI: Miami". The series was a critical and commercial success, and Caruso became one of the most popular actors on television. He remained with the series until its cancellation in 2012.
Since the end of "CSI: Miami", Caruso has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including "Blue Bloods" (2013-present) and "Power" (2014-2020).
